
FEBVRE WINES REBAND BRIEF
Febvre Wines has been at the forefront of the Irish wine trade for over 50 years. Febvre Wines approached me with a unique opportunity to design and present new concepts for its brand identity. My starting point was to distill the brief to the key areas which I felt were most important to the company. One of the key aspects of the brief that jumped out to me was that the identity should differentiate old Febvre to new Febvre. The new brand and brand material should reflect Febvre as a modern company staffed by a young and vibrant team. The brand should also be clearly seen as a wine brand.

BRAND IDENTITY
I felt it was important that the new brand reflect Febvre Wines expertise and history but in a contemporary and approachable way. I explored symbols to find an icon which would clearly say wine. The icon of the grapes I feel clearly does this while its clean geometric shapes are both classic and contemporary.

THE TYPEFACE
While researching font options and pairings I found that Serenity had the right balance of elegance, individuality and clarity to use as the main brand font. Its beautiful geometric lines and curves reflected the classic yet contemporary look I wanted for the brand. I found Neuzeit Grotesk a good font pairing for Serenity. Its both refined and legible and extends the brand font toolkit to give more font options.

THE COLOUR PALETTE
The previous brand had a limited colour palette which really restricted the branding possibilities. I find that colour is such a hard working tool in a brand toolkit. Starting with a base colour of wine for recognisability I expanded the palette with complimentary aqua blues and purple.

BRAND FAMILY
One of the additional requirements of the brief was to explore the possibility of developing a brand family for the various company services. Following from the main brand I sought to create a complimentary icon for each service. Following the V shape of the vines in the main identity where possible.
